Delegation Request

Members of the public who wish to provide comments or opinions on a matter being considered at a public meeting are called delegations.

To determine the meeting date you wish to make your delegation at, you may review the Meeting Calendar.

Rules Regarding Delegations at Meetings

  1. Persons requesting to appear as Delegations must submit written request (Schedule "F" form) and supporting written reports and/or presentations to the Clerk outlining the purpose of their Delegation within the required timeline; at least 10 days in advance of the meeting for items not listed on the agenda, or by 12 noon on the day before the meeting for items listed on the agenda, which will be considered as an addition to the agenda.
  2. Delegations may only speak at a Meeting with respect to the requested topic which was approved and listed on the agenda for that particular Meeting.
  3. Delegations are permitted 15 minutes to speak.
  4. Delegations are intended for the presentation of information; any requests made to Council are considered at a later date.
  5. Questions directed to Staff by any delegate shall be received through the Chair.
  6. If you require use of the laptop, you must provide an electronic version of your presentation in compatible format (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or PDF)
  7. Scheduling is at the discretion of the Clerk.
  8. Additional material may be circulated at the time of the delegation upon approval of the Clerk.
