The Township of Lanark Highlands covers an area of approximately 1,048 square kilometres, representing approximately 35% of the land base of Lanark County. The Township currently maintains approximately 350 km of gravel roads (many of which are seasonal), 20 km of asphalt roads and 90 km of surface-treated roads, which meander through hills, valleys and around water bodies. The landscape topography and large quantity of gravel roads make the Township unique in comparison to the other municipalities within Lanark County.
