Return to any detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police during regular business hours. -
Asbestos
Please call a licensed demolition expert. Homeowners should never handle asbestos. -
Oxygen, Freon or Acetylene Gas
Return to supplier on attached label. -
Pathological Waste (Syringes)
Return to the pharmacy where purchased. Must be placed in a hard plastic container for safety reasons. -
Pharmaceuticals
(Prescription or non Prescription Drugs for Human or Veterinary Use) Return to the dispensing pharmacy or veterinary office for safe disposal. -
P.C.B. Contaminated Waste (Fluorescent Light Ballasts)
Ballasts manufactured prior to 1980 could contain PCB’s. After 1980 they do not contain PCB’s but they contain oil and should not be disposed of in a landfill. The homeowner should never handle PCBs. Please call a licensed disposal expert. -
Smoke Detectors
The Ontario Ministry of the Environment notes smoke detectors should be discarded as regular household waste.
Rules
- Be prepared to show identification
We are licensed to accept materials from residents of Lanark Highlands and Tay Valley Townships only. - Fill out a Tracking Form indicating the quantity and volumne for each material.
- This facility cannot bulk flammable or highly vapourous liquids, therefore containers holding these liquids will not be returned (e.g. gasoline containers.)
- Waste Items must be identifiable and in a sealed container or package. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- It is ecommended that cans and bottles be the original with labels and that they are placed in a cardboard box to make for easier disposal.
- No materials from farming or commercial operations
